I’m very happy that
the AICC is once again able
to host Opera in the Piazza
this year! The city of New
Orleans recently completed
a major renovation of our
beautiful Piazza d’Italia
which included fixing the
pipes and restoring the foun-
tain to its full glory.
Many years ago on a warm
spring evening in Rome, I
followed the faint sounds of
music and discovered a small
concert in an historic piazza.
It was breathtaking. And it
inspired me to host a similar
concert here in New Orleans
at our beloved Piazza d’Italia.
On Friday June 21, 2019,
the AICC will sponsor an
evening of opera arias from
some of our favorite Italian
