Flexographic printing machines
BFM srl consolidates its presence in the Middle East with the delivery of two Flexographic printing machines Stack type Model “ Sirio S Plus ”. After the successful installation of a Flexo Stack type 8 Colours Printer , carried out at a customer in Southern Italy , BFM srl delivers two more Flexographic Printing machines Model Sirio S Plus in Saudi Arabia , one with 6 and one with 8 colors , consolidating its presence in the Middle East . Sirio Model S Plus are 6 / 8 color Stack type machines , designed for printing on different plastic materials for the packaging market but also suitable for paper materials , in line with the extruder or from reel to reel .
The printing repeat length is from of 350 mm up to a maximum of 1200mm , with printing widths up to 1600 mm . The line is composed of an unwinder with different solutions : fixed , shaftless or revolver , 6 / 8 colors printing group with motorized counter-printing axis , electric grinding and pneumatic inking . The drying group is composed of an intercolor system and a drying box with electric or by gas heating and a winder with different winding possibilities . The automation platform of this machine has been designed using the proven application experience of Bosch Rexoth , the industry leader in the automation of printing and converting machines . This printer is the “ right compromise ” between costs and performance : in this case the use of Indra- Dyn MBT torque motors , which move

the color group composed of counterroller-clichè-anilox , guarantees great dimensional compactness and the right printing precision . The use of the IndraDrive M digital series guarantees constant position synchronism between the different printing elements , with consequent register maintenance both at high speeds and during acceleration and deceleration . Initial registration is very quick and can also be done when the machine is stopped , significantly reducing energy waste and material waste . The employed technical construction solutions , and the “ Cantilever System ” for the change of “ Sleeves ” for both anilox and clichè , have allowed to reduce the down-time work -changes . Among the novelties of S-Plus the new graphic interface , designed on 21 “, simple and intuitive but at the same time complete for the management of all machine functions .

The VDA-M amplifier by Gefran
One amplifier , multiple functions
Gefran – the Italian multinational group specialised in the design and production of sensors , industrial process control systems , electric drives and automation components – introduces its new VDA-M amplifier developed by Sensormate – a company that is part of the Gefran Group specialising in force measurement on injection moulding and die casting machines and industrial presses . Ideally suited for use in injection moulding machines with toggle levers , VDA-M is a smart solution combining clamping force measurement , mould protection and monitoring of the cavity pressure profile . “ Tie bar strain sensors are a proven solution to control the clamping force of injection moulding machines ” states Piero Tempini , Operation Manager at Sensormate “ However ” he continues , “ machine manufacturers and final users also face other challenges in injection moulding . On the one hand , moulds must be protected against damages caused by moulded parts that are not fully ejected . On the other hand , the pressure curve in the mould must be measured and optimally controlled to avoid faulty production results , such as burr formation or surface defects . This ” he concludes , “ is usually done with the aid of complex cavity pressure measurements , whereby the sensors are mounted in the mould and must be reconnected each time the mould is changed ”. Thanks to the new , three-channel VDA-M amplifier , all these functions can be performed with one sensor mounted on the tie bar or toggle , depending on the type of machine . In addition to the clamping force output , a sophisticated digital amplifier electronics provides high-resolution signals specifically conditioned for the applications of mould protection and monitoring of the cavity pressure profile . In multi-cavity moulds , the amplifier also provides an integral curve of the cavity pressure : this provides a valid alternative requiring a lower investment than the use of sensors in the mould , which only measure a specific point and are thus not able to detect an integrated pressure signal . Lastly , the combination of the VDA-M amplifier and GE1029 tie bar strain sensor or the SB46 model suitable for toggle mounting from Sensormate is the guarantee of a simplified installation . The independence from the sensors in the mould results in an economical , safe and user-friendly solution for optimum results in the injection moulding process .
