kind of ethnic minority. Of course,
children come to school and learn
Chinese with teachers, but when I talked
to them in Chinese, they replied to me in
their own languages.
It was easy to please the children after
a period of time because I started to I get
along with them. They get happy easily
and they are not much different from the
local Chinese children.
At the beginning, they used simple
English or their own languages to
address me, so in the class it seems that
no one is being understood. However,
when I showed pictures and asked them
to repeat some Chinese characters, they
understood the meaning. Sometimes, in
order to make them absorb what I teach
in class, I have to use body language like
facial expressions and actions. Of course,
I do praise them through constant
