Character bios Jamal By Nickiel Govender Jamal Malik, such an honest and sincere young man don’t you think. Ask him a question and he will only tell you what he knows, nothing more. But Jamal’s vast knowledge didn’t come from working at a phone company, oh no, he had to go through hardship, and great triumphs, with even greater losses to know the things he does. After all laywers and doctors didn’t know all the answers, so why did he? Jamal grew up in the slums of Mumbai, with his older brother Salim. They had a very close relationship, and only had each other to rely on when their mother was murdered. Jamal is more compassionate and caring compared to Salim’s rough nature. Jamal has an aspect in his personality that you can’t quite put your finger on.
