CyberAkuten

CyberAkuten, or Cyber-ER was the project’ s initiative to provide a platform for discussing digital security. The initiative was created to improve regional expertise and strengthen digital resilience. CyberAkuten offered free, practical seminars based on the needs of SMEs. The seminars followed a similar format. They started with an inspiring speech by an expert on the topic, which then led into a group discussion. The discussion involved asking questions and exploring the topic together to find answers. CyberAkuten has covered a wide range of topics, including risk management, online fraud, data breaches, disinformation, the CRA, and the implementation of NIS2. CyberAkuten’ s hybrid format allowed participants to join either online or in person at locations in Finland and Sweden. On average, each of the 14 seminars attracted 15-20 attendees, although some sessions were more popular, drawing twice as many participants.
IIn the early seminars, participants broadly examined cybersecurity threats and discussed their impacts from both personal and corporate perspectives. As the seminar series progressed, the focus on systematic security efforts became more engaging, and later seminars focused more on technologies. Several attendees kept returning, illustrating an ongoing learning curve from raising awareness to implementation. This progress can also be attributed to the increasing involvement of digital security managers from companies and municipalities, who proposed exploring new topics.
