Ashley Murphy is an extraordinary human being, she was born with HIV positive which later turned into AIDS. She was put into foster care because her biological parents couldn't take care of her. She was fighting for her life since she was only six months old. Her foster parents were told that she only had a few weeks to live but they took her home and her health began to improve. In her family she has nine other siblings, many of them with other special needs. Most of her other siblings are also adopted or fostered. She began to public speak at the age of 10 years old at We Day across Canada. She is passionate to reduce stigma against people with HIV and AIDS. In the summer of 2014, she travelled to Kenya with Me to We, in Kenya she met two girls named Naomi and Faith who both live with HIV too. She was inspired to build schools in Kenya by that trip and she is doing so by Free The Children.
