Water is an important source of survival, but why do 800,000,000 people live without access to clean,safe drinkable water? Without water, you can only survive a maximum of a week. Everyone needs 20-50 liters of clean water a day but only 0.007% of the water on the earth is drinking water. So why do 1,000,000,000 people in developing countries live without access to clean water? The paragraphs ahead with inform you on this serious world crisis.
Contaminated drinking water can affect many people's lives in developing countries, the important tasks for hundreds of women and children is to fetch water, many kilometers away, for their families or even communities. Everyday, they must carry heavy buckets filled with untreated drinking water. The water they fetch will eventually get them sick and they might not be able to go to school to get a proper education. A way to prevent these scenarios from happening is providing clean water in schools so children won’t spends countless hours fetching water.
