THE EARLY 1970'S KNEE
BOARD
The early 1970s knee board was made after
hours in the East Cape factory by legendary
surfer and shaper Bob McTavish when Bob was
moonlighting during a period of financial
hardship. Bob has since gone on to become one of
the leading designers and manufacturers in the
surfing industry. The board is on loan to the
museum from the Carl Tanner collection.
