Qs.1 - Polo De’Marco Magazine is known to be a luxury lifestyle magazine, however you were involved with fitness and appeared on several covers. Why do you want to go from fitness to lifestyle? It is an honour for me to appear on your pres- tigious cover and to be featured within. I want to show another side to myself - a swarve, sophisticated, fashionable gentlemen to com- pliment the fitness side. I have already shown many times. To me fitness is a lifestyle anyway, the two go hand in hand. I am staying true to myself, this is who I am and it continues to open my more opportunities and experiences for me. Qs.2 - You’re known as ‘HealthManMark’. How did that come about and when did it start? We it came about five years ago over a casual chat with a friend, and I really didn’t expect it to stick. I opened my Instagram account under that name and quickly ‘Health Man Mark’. It became kind of catchy and people familiarised themselves with it. I like it because it shows that I am all round health; including nutri- tion, exercise, psychology which are my three degrees and my passion. Qs.3 - Being a qualified Dietitian with a Master in Nutrition and Dietetics, and you have a Degree in Science and Psychology. How does science work with physchology, and its affects? Yes! Thank you I spent six years at university, studying a Bachelor Degrees in Exercise Science and Psychology; with a Masters Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. I like the link that psychology has with exercise and nutrition, because so much of the result comes down to motivating the mind and being self disciplined. Whilst I don’t practise as a psychologist, I feel it helps me a great deal in my nutritional consultations and everyday inter-personal dealings with people. Qs.4 - In 2013, you won the World Model Title. Firstly, what was that like? Secondly, you judge and often MC the Natural Fitness Shows. Is that something that you want to do in terms of luxury lifestyle? Absolutely! I love travel, I enjoy challenges, I feel comfortable talking in front of large audiences and I like sharing knowledge. I always strive for more and so after winning the world Musclemania title I positioned myself to Coach and lead many more athletes to national and world shows and took every opportunity to judge, present awards and Host or MC. It’s an honour and I hope to continue growing into a tv and movie personality. Qs.5 - You started the supplement range called; 360. How long did it take you? and Did you use your education to create this? Supplements have always been a big passion of mine and yes absolutely my studies contributed to my interest in them and hugely in the formulating of our 360Health range. In 2013, I joined forces with my business partner, Rob Quatro to officially launch our first Natural Supplement - Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) and today we have a whole range of supplements; including various amino acids to suit all goals. Being a Dietitian helps enor- mously in the nutrition panels, and ensuring our range is completely natural and of the highest quality. Qs.6 - The Acetyl L - Carnitine has natural amino acids that help you to loose weight and create brain alertness. How does it work? Yes, that’s exactly right! The Acetyl component is a neurotransmitter, which assists brain cognition; thinking, memory and alertness. The Carnitine component is a natural amino acid that functions as a transporter of fat from stubborn fat cells of the body delivering it to the mitochondria cells for metobolism or conversion into energy; therefore enabling fat loss and natural energy. Qs.7 - What’s your advice in keeping fit and healthy? Nutrition is the key! Improve your diet firstly, and then secondly undertake regular exercise. My nutrition tips include high protein, moder- ate carbohydrates and low fats, eat regularly in small amounts throughout the day. Plus, keep it simple and achievable and be consistent and patient. Qs.8 - In your bio - you state that you want to go into television. Are you looking to have you’re own TV show? or Do you want to host a luxury lifestyle show? I see myself as being a guest on various tv shows as the expert in health; to talk from a Dietitian and Fitness Model perspective on anything Health related. For example; the latest trends and fads in nutrition. If this role is developed into hosting a current show or having my own that would be a dream come true! Qs.9 - What would you say to future models who are looking to do the same thing? and What is the weight restriction when going from fitness modelling to luxury? Keep chasing your goals!!! I have had to believe in myself and be persistent; nothing comes easy, you have to go after it and it takes a lot of hard work, but it is an exciting journey that never really ends. Fitness modelling requires more emphasis on a ripped and muscular physique; whilst with luxury we need to look after our face, hair, grooming, fashion and style a little more - plus both require charisma and a good personality. Qs.10 - Lastly, whats it like to be on the front cover of Monaco’s premium luxury lifestyle magazine and to be introduced to a whole brand new market? Thank you! This is a huge honour for me. I have never been to Monaco but it’s always been on my list to visit. This magazine is so prestigious and associates with some of the worlds largest & most famous people, as well as the worlds biggest fashion brands. I am blessed!
