PDM : Management is a hard job where you have a skill set that involves budgets along with implementation of all social , security , and hygiene rules , along with accounting and finance . What level have you achieved in fulfilling these roles ?
JR : I have been managing hotels for more than 15 years and I have had to deal with many financial , societal , safety and regulatory issues . Legislation changes regularly , and thanks to my human resources teams , we are well aware of the rules .
PDM : Working within the compounds of the Château de Versailles you must be inspired by the history and the culture of the establishment . Were you in awe of the Château ?
JR : I already had an attraction for history , but this is a whole new dimension . Everyday we are working in the heart of what was the centre of the world in the 17th century , and one of the most beautiful places of power . Yes , I am certainly in awe of what is the will of one man , Louis XIV , at the Château de Versailles
PDM : Airelles Collection is the ultimate in luxury . Out of all of the hotels within the Collection , which one would you personally stay at , and at which one would you entertain a high-end clientele ?
JR : Each of our houses is iconic , and so it is very difficult to choose . Perhaps because I love the sun and Provence , the ‘ Bastide de Gordes ’ with its 18th century Provençal decor echoes the Grand Contrôle . All of our houses are dedicated to a high-end clientele but certainly , Le Grand Contrôle , is the place where we can immerse the client in an extremely unique and magical experience .
