Likewise, we are also sending our artists abroad. Last year, Ballet Philippines has performed in China.
Tanghalang Pilipino joined the theater conference in Russia. PPO has been invited in Asia Orchestra Week,
in Tokyo. In 2016, the PPO has performed in the Carnegie Hall - the first Philippine orchestra to ever do
so. The Philippine Madrigal Singers, a hall of famer in the European Chorale Grand Prix having won the
prestigious choir competition twice, and Bayanhihan have been performing all over the world. All of them

7. In the Ginintuang Sining, the CCP will host a spectacular light and sound show designed by
Toym Leon Imao. Why is it important to bring Toym into the event and what’s his plan for the
show?
ANSWER: “Ginintuang Sining” is a light and sounds show, reminiscent of the CCP’s annual Christmas
lights installation. The light and sound show tells the story of the CCP’s contribution to excellence nurturing
Filipino aesthetics, and nurturing the next generation of artists.
The art installation was designed by Toym Imao, and created in collaboration with Arwin Quiwa, from
the well-known lantern maker family from Pampanga. In the past years, we have collaborated with the
magpaparol of Pampanga for our Christmas display. This year, it will be bigger. It will open on September and
last until December.
