6. What is the role of CCP in supporting the next generation of Filipino artists? How do you
promote local Partist to both Filipino and international audiences?
ANSWER: Our goal is to make arts matter in the life of every Filipino. We have been promoting artistic
excellence among our artists and, at the same time, nurturing the broadest audiences to participate in art
making and appreciation. For the last decades, we have been focusing on art education and art appreciation.
Our Arts Education Department encourages the growth of aspiring artists, arts managers and new audiences
through master classes, workshops, and online educational resources. They also ventured out to hold
workshops for educators to us arts as tools of learning.
The Outreach and Exchange Department supports the development of satellite venues in select cities all over
the country, and brings artists to different regions in the country so that those who can’t afford to see a show
at the CCP, or those who are geographically-challenged, can still see world-class performances. Recently, the
Ballet Philippines performed in Bacolod and Iloilo. The PPO has been doing outreach concerts all over the
Philippines.
