Q7. You were featured on the ninth season
of The Bachelor in the US which was filmed
in Rome, but you didn’t ultimately find true
love on the show. You’ve also been on various
other reality television programs. Are you still
looking for that special someone or have you
found her?
LB: Time will tell.
Q8. Since Rome is considered your second
home and the origination for the word
romance, what are your favorite things to do
and visit when you are home in Rome? And,
what is the most romantic thing one can do
when in Rome?
LB: Eat, Eat, Eat. I love walking around what I believe
is the world’s most romantic city. There is so much
history in Rome and I can see it, smell it, and almost
taste it in every step. One of my favorite areas is
Trastevere. I love eating there at an outdoor café,
enjoying a delicious bowl of homemade pasta while
drinking an incredible bottle of Italian red wine. As
the sun sets there, the colors of the sky are simply
amazing. Then, the live music starts around you, so
it’s simply the perfect way to spend an evening.
Q9. Your parents have been happily married
for 53 years. What wisdom have they imparted
to you about commitment and family? What
do you think your legacy will look like for
your children, and what will you teach them
in order for them to learn how to best handle
their royal roles in society?
LB: Life is about family. This is by far the most
important commitment in life, family. With regards
to children, if I do have them one day, I will bring
them up exactly how my parents brought me up, like
a regular person vs. a prince or princess.
Q10. What is your favorite thing to do when
you’re simply being Lorenzo, and not Prince
Lorenzo Borghese?
LB: I love spending time with family and friends,
going out to a great dinner, traveling, flying (I have
my pilot’s license), playing golf, scuba diving, skiing
and playing tennis..but only when I win :)
Q11. What’s your most salient thought on how
a non-royal can enhance their life in a royal
way?
LB: Put a piece of chocolate on your pillow, and then
eat it.
Q12. What do you want people to know about
you?
LB: I’m just another human being, but faster, stronger
and smarter. That’s obviously a joke. Really, just that
I’m human and just like everyone else.
Q13. What brings you absolute joy in this
world?
LB: Family, friends, dogs, beer and wine, and food.
Q14. Why did you decide to go on the Bachelor
and other reality TV shows?
LB: I don’t want to live my life with “what-ifs”. Few
people get opportunities like these and I knew that if
I made a bad decision, I could live with it. I’d rather
live knowing I tried and failed than to not try at all.
Q15. Tell us something about you that most
people don’t know?
LB: I’m actually a pretty shy person, so television,
public speaking, etc. have always been difficult for
me.
Q16. What’s the best piece of advice someone
ever gave you?
LB: It’s all about timing.
