Q1. How do you describe you’re art?
My art is a connexion between Science and
Spirituality, between mecanic quantic and general
relativity. My work talks of the sense about the
original life, where we from ? Who we are ? And
where we go ? It’s a perpetual reflexion about our
environnement and what it’s real or not.
Q2. You mention in you’re bio that you have
a face in you’re painting. Who’s face is it? Or
what kind of image do you use?
I really don’t know who are these faces on my
paintings. I think it’s at the same time a autoportrait,
a projection of my life and feelings, and a face of
« my muse » Elsa. But sometimes, I can’t prevent me
to think it’s the face of my mother, or the mother of
everything, of everythere.
Q3. When it comes to you’re techniques - how
would you describe it? And how are you trying
to sculpt you’re paintings?
My technique travels in several medias on the canvas.
I use the same techniques from the Rennaissance
artists but with actuals materials. I work with a lot of
« Lavis » and « Sfumato » to create a transparency in
my characters and portraits, and after many layers,
volumes appear, from the shadows and lights. Like
Rennaissance sculpturs.
Q4. You bluer the body and features of your
images. What is the techniques to do that and
what is the purpose of it?
I mix a lot of materials, acrylics, inc, sometimes,
pastels or oil, to create strange sensations where we
can see transparent character, merges with the Nature
around him. It’s a long process of many layers, but
with that technic, i can find a « surreal atmosphere »
to make evolves my character and my feelings.

Q7. You have
a sense of
beauty and
fragility in
your work.
Why is that?
I try to
translate the
fragility and
the beauty
of Life, just
simply.
Q8. You use a canvas that is palimpsest - why
do you such materials and how people see
you’re impressions?
I’m referring to the art history, and i create a history
into the canvas. For this, I juxtapose many materials
and I sand down for recover the face or other on the
surface of my painting. Thanks to that, I can give a
past to this painting, and we can build a life before
the real creation of that painting.
Q9. You use ‘artificial intelligence’ in your
work. Why is that? And what are the responses
from you’re customers?
Yes, I use this concept to create a faintness to
Q5. You have a Matrix thing going in your
the spectator. When we speak about artificial
images - where you talk about sex and it
intelligence, we are fascinate and also affraid, so i
becomes no more than memories. Why is that? keep this for the realization of my sculptures. In this
Because I want to create a contradiction beetween
the matrice (matter) and the immaculate conception
of the soul, in the Universe, nothing disappears,
everything is tranformed.
Q6. What kind of emotion do you want to
bring into you’re paintings?
I don’t try to bring a specific feel in my painting,
anybody can see a particular emotion about this, and
a particular senses or other thing ... My painting is
part of my work i try to give a organic appearance to
my sculptures to disturb senses of the spectators or
collectors.
Q10. Lastly, tell me in one word - who is Fabien
Bouguennec?
An « Old soul »
