Issue No.18 Issue No.18 | Page 6

CEO NOTES by Mike Angangan I would have to say that Issue No.18 has to be one of the biggest editions we have ever made. Since, we launched in 2010 with Steve Forbes of Forbes Magazine I believe it has grown to an extent where we have now been compared to the likes of the Robb Report and we feel that other magazines are now trying to copy our concept of our ideas of Marco Polo. There's a perfect quote that states that "You can copy me, but you will never be me!". With over 150 pages in this edition - it consists one of the biggest celebrity chef's in the world; Wolfgang Puck. Wolfgang Puck where his networth is over $2Billion US dollars with hundred restaurants around the world. Being a Michelin Chef Restauranteur - I can imagine it being hard to overlook an empire. But, I have to say running an empire in your own name is nothing but admirable. Wolfgang Puck stated in a TV interview with CNN "at Spago we were one of the first restaurants to appear in Beverly Hills; yet alot of restaurants have been and gone but our will stay forever". Honestly, I believe that to be true because not only is Wolfgang an expert at his craft, but he is the 'go-to' guy for the Academy Awards, the Oscars and the Governors Ball. Along side with our feature on Wolfgang Puck is our number one exclusive interview with Spencer Matthews. Spencer Matthews a TV reality star based in the UK who has done shows as Made in Chelsea, The Bachelor UK and now the MasterChef UK. However, his creditials don't rely on his tv shows; but the birth of his new baby boy but raising awarness to the Michael Matthews Foundation - a foundation that enables education and food for young African Children. Being a newborn father - I can imagine it being difficult because of the early morning feeding, nappy changing, etc. but having to live a lifestyle that you're parents created. Thus, his father (David) who created the world famous 'Eden Rock' and the Founder of Eden Rock Capital Management Group, and his mother Jane Matthews who's overall creativity gave the Matthew Boys & Girl the skillset to do whatever they want. So, it is important to have a good support network around you so that you can continue amoungst your own creativity. Also, in this edition - we have artist; William Rosewood an accidental artist who went from designing fashion at the age of 16years to creating artwork that is made by hand and creating unconventional pieces using unusual materials such as animal heads such as rhinos, monkey's etc. and painting them in gold. But, when I first looked at some of his pieces on Instagram I thought the pieces were real; but yet William assured me that they were replicas. As you know we promote environmental causes and animal welfare so I thought to myself "thank god their not real". Because, it is heavily publised on Social Media that there are alot of animal killings of elephants, lions, etc. so it is good to know you have artist who try to be real and not copy from any other artistan. Lastly, I would have to say that our whole concept of the magazine 'Marco Polo' and how he traded around the world is what our magazine is about. Building relations with the right people, having good intentions, and promoting what is important in 2018, and that is raising awarness about the environment and animal welfare which is so important because if the animal die, then we will all die.
