πίσω στα περιεχόμενα / back to the contents > We proposed the deconstruction of the conventional central building, in four autonomous buildings which are nested around a traditional square. This way we created the sense of the island’s traditional square in proportion to human scale. The roofs of these four buildings were constructed with a modern version of the traditional way of covering the terrace of the islands’ houses. The element that unifies all the complex is the coarse coating, a living technique still in use in the island of Leros. We brought a specialized craftsman from this island to educate and guide our staff in order to achieve the proper effect. The materials are simple.
