Stuart and Iain Barr have had a long and positive association with Newton Stewart Rugby Club with their business 3B Construction , they recently spoke to Rugby Club Magazine about their friendship with the club ,

“ Some years ago we were approached by Newton Stewart regarding potential sponsorship . Being both ex-players and rugby fans we were very impressed by the dedication of those involved at the club and felt we would like to help them a bit further than they had asked and decided to finance a minibus .
Since then , we have been regular attenders at Bladnoch Park and have enjoyed following their success over many years . As far as rugby club`s go Newton Stewart are a relatively new one , formed only in 1984 , and one of the few clubs throughout Scotland , the UK and possibly worldwide who have never tasted relegation .”
Stuart`s son Harry is a current U16`s player and
Will his younger son is involved in the youth rugby set up at the club also . Iain and Stuart continued ,
“ Youth rugby is so important for the future of any club , its vital that you have a conveyor belt of players coming through . Players get older and legs get tired , we can both testify to that and with a first XV squad of only 24 players investment in youth development is essential . The service club members provide to their local community , including girls and ladies ’ rugby , is second to none and is quite inspiring .
The brand of expansive rugby the club are always trying to play is great to watch and has served them well whilst they compete in a very tough league this season . Ourselves and all our staff at 3B Construction would like to congratulate everyone at Newton Stewart Rugby club on being recognised for their outstanding contribution to local rugby ; something which is well deserved ! Wishing them all the very best of continued success for many more years to come !”
