Daniel Killick ex London Welsh Rugby Club player and , Sales Director at Chestertons London`s premier Estate Agent . Daniel recently told Rugby Club Magazine ,

” I am not surprised that London Welsh have been recognized for their outstanding contribution to local sport in Richmond and throughout London this year , I have been aware of the great work they have done and continue to do for many years . Moving to London can be a shock to the system for anyone and take you right out of your comfort zone . Settling in doesn ’ t necessarily happen overnight and , you can face many unexpected challenges around work and socialising . It can be quite easy to get downhearted when your suddenly away from family and friends , I was very fortunate to have mates who I grew up and played rugby with from my home town of Cowbridge here in London . These days with work and family commitments ( I have two little girls aged four and six ), I don ’ t get down to the club as often as I would like but do try to go roughly once a month .
Chesterton`s sponsorship of London Welsh came by chance when I received a call from club stalwart Gareth Vaughan Jones who explained that one of their mini / midi main tournament sponsors had pulled out at the last minute and did I think Chesterton`s could help . My mind immediately through me back to my early rugby days at Cowbridge and to the many memories of people who are still my best mates today . Driven with this passion I approached my employers and explained not only what a great rugby club London Welsh were , but how young children were so important to the development of the sport I loved and , how I felt that our business had very similar values and passions to the club . It didn ’ t take long for my colleagues to agree and the rest is history as they say .
With London being such a challenging environment for new people a few friends of mine at the club including Hayden and Pete , decided that there was an opportunity to be of service to people who needed someone to share their concerns with . It ’ s difficult to formulate what we do into words but it can best be described as a hub which offers support on anything from career challenges to personal matters ; sometimes simply listening is the best help , and half the battle is communicating how you feel . As a club we can help to lighten a load which may at times seem overwhelming .
I am exceptionally proud of my association with London Welsh Rugby Club , as I am to be part of Chestertons . Myself and all our Staff at Chesterton`s Estate Agents would like to congratulate London Welsh on another great season on and off the pitch !”
