We also launched our Inaugural 1876 Rugby Memories lunches that as well as celebrating the club ’ s rich history also has the added benefit of looking after the health and wellbeing of our club members . This links into work we done through the lockdown in partnership with the NHS where we created 3 Health and wellbeing videos which are available on our club website www . kelsorfc . co . uk / mentalhealth in addition to training six members up to be mental health mates and act as points of contact for our membership .
I am supported as President by past president Jim Hewit and Vice President Neil Hastie , who are both good friends and ex-players of the club who I was lucky to play alongside . Beneath
that the club structure includes a management board supported by a general committee and respective sub committees who ensure the smooth running of the club and all respective members have ensured through hard work that the club remains within the top tiers of Scottish Rugby and are currently sitting in the top half of the Tennent ’ s Scottish National League National League 1 .
As President it is rewarding and fulfilling to see where the club is at the moment , with a great vibrancy around it and great to see young and old around the club with smiles on their faces . Kelso is a small town with a population of just over 6,500 and the club punches well above its weight with a rich history that has seen us produce Scottish Internationalists and British
Lions , which has made us a much-respected club in the top tier of Scottish Rugby and an integral part of our local community , which allows people to develop in a safe and positive environment through rugby , physical activity and social inclusion . The club is in good health and now looks forward to another milestone in its history next April when we will celebrate our centenary sevens .”
