A charity set up specifically to help North-East businesses survive the Covid-19 pandemic has marked its first 12 months of successful operation .
Founder and chair , Peterlee-based businessman Richard Swart , welcomed dozens of supporters and sponsors to a night of celebration and fundraising in the marquee of Ramside Hall Hotel .
As well as a chance for businesses to meet and network , the evening provided an opportunity for foundation members to hear stories of the companies that had benefited from financial and advisory support .
Turtle Bay
Riverwalk , Durham
Guests including the mayor of Durham turned up to the opening of a major new attraction in the city as food franchise Turtle Bay opened a venue on the Riverwalk off Framwellgate Bridge .
The business community was invited to get a first taste of the Caribbean food franchise which has venues across the country offering vibrant Caribbean-themed food and cocktails in an upbeat , fun atmosphere .
The preview night was accompanied by live music and entertainment .
