Cerberus Capital Management said the acquisition fitted its strategy of investing in defence and industrial businesses supporting Western-allied nations.
The firm also stressed its existing
commitment to investment in the UK and said the businesses being acquired would be supported to grow under its ownership.

The sale will leave Goodwin with a smaller and more focused group, backed by the proceeds of one of the largest transactions involving a Stoke-on-Trent business in recent years.
For the operations transferring to Cerberus, meanwhile, the agreement represents the beginning of a new phase under an investor that has identified defence and industrial businesses as a central part of its strategy.
Subject to the necessary approvals, that new chapter is expected to begin in early 2027.
