I started what is now Clouda- structure in 2003 , and started developing cloud-based sur- veillance . But companies still shied at the public cloud , and the technology wasn ’ t there .
I hip-pocketed working on the project for many years . I was working at Google X as an advi- sor when they released Tensor- flow in 2015 . I began working on the issue of cloud-based sur- veillance in earnest again and subsequently raised more than $ 30 million to launch Clouda- structure .

Today , I ’ d argue we have an AI surveillance system with more cloud integrity than any com- petitor on the market . What does that mean ?
Well , servers are servers , wheth- er you own them or Google does . What makes a server “ cloud ” is not just who owns the server , but who performs the labor to in- stall and manage the software on it .
