She talked about the challeng- es of balancing a career with having a family , especially when both are career officers in the military balancing multi- ple back-to-back deployments , and stressed ' It really matters who you choose to spend your life with because if they ' re not a good teammate , you ' re only
making your own life harder .
Her advice to her children and repeatedly to herself along her whole career : " Don ' t stand still . Start moving . Show up every day , and keep doing it - and you ' ll figure out the path . Even if you don ' t know what the end goal looks like , it will become more clear as you go ."
