LAW FIRM LEADS THE WAY WITH AWARDS
A
leading Teesside law firm has thrown its weight behind Aycliffe ’ s relaunched awards competition .
Aycliffe Business Park ’ s Make Your Mark awards , in association with headline sponsors Husqvarna , will return this year during a glamourous ceremony at Redworth Hall Hotel on Friday , May 20 .
Stockton-based Jacksons Law Firm has agreed to sponsor the Small Business category for the awards competition , with entries now open .
The firm ’ s managing partner Tony Wentworth said : “ As soon as we were asked to support the Make Your Mark awards , it was a quick and easy decision .
“ There ’ s a lot happening across Aycliffe Business Park and we ’ ve enjoyed getting involved in recent networking events – there ’ s clearly a buzzing community .
“ We ’ re passionate about supporting small businesses , so sponsoring the Small Business category in this year ’ s Make Your Mark awards was a no-brainer for us .”
Jacksons Law firm is one of the North-East ’ s longest established law firms and has been practising in the Tees Valley for over 140 years .
ABPC business development manager Martin Walker added : “ We ’ re delighted to have such a long-established , reputable law firm support the relaunch of the Make Your Mark awards .
“ Their name and reputation certainly add extra credibility to the awards – and they join a growing , high-profile list of sponsors so far .”
With offices in Stockton , Newcastle and Sunderland , Jacksons Law ’ s geographical spread covers the whole of the North-East region .
The firm is on the Tees Valley Combined Authority panel of advisors , it has played its part in the North-shoring effect of big organisations and government departments moving to the region .
And Jacksons know a thing or two about winning awards themselves .
They ’ re the only Tees Valley practice to have been a finalist two years running in the Northern Law Awards , winning Team of the Year Property ( Commercial ) in 2017 and 2019 .
And in 2019 the team was awarded Property Law Firm of the Year in the North East Insider Property Awards and it has also won this year ’ s Property Law Firm of the Year . Jacksons was also a finalist for Property Deal of the Year for the work it carried out on The Northern School of Art development in
Middlesbrough .
Tony added : “ It ’ s rewarding to know that the job that you do is recognised by others outside the firm and we are perceived as a successful organisation that does what it does very well .
“ There is satisfaction in knowing that you ’ re part of something that is the best at what it does .
“ That ’ s why it ’ s always important businesses enter competitions like this – if not just to go through the experience of looking back on their own achievements , but more importantly giving your organisation a chance of being called a winner .”
News about more Make Your Mark category sponsors will be revealed in the coming weeks .
There are only three categories available for sponsorship , including the Environment Award , Apprentice of the Year and Training Provider of the Year .
The sponsorship package includes preevent publicity , event branding , a chance to be involved in the judging process and to present an award , plus a table of 10 for the awards ceremony , including a reception drink , threecourse meal and table wine .
