IT firm continues rapid growth with senior Microsoft appointment
North East-headquartered managed IT service provider razorblue , which has seen 363 per cent growth over the last five years , has added to its team once again with the appointment of senior industry expert Nigel Hedley .
Nigel has joined Microsoft Gold Partner razorblue to support the growth of its software division , which helps improve business profitability and efficiency through digital transformation .
Working closely with businesses , razorblue implements industry-leading Microsoft Dynamics 365 financials , ERP and CRM solutions .

The company saw a 25 per cent growth in headcount during the first nine months of the pandemic and anticipates recruiting 25 additional team members in the next 12 months – and plans to continue expanding its nationwide coverage in addition to adding more products and services to the current offering .
In 2020 , razorblue acquired a new office space in Edinburgh which expanded reach into Scotland , bringing the total number of offices to seven , including Wynyard , Newcastle , Manchester , Leeds and London , after investing more than £ 600,000 in its new head office in Catterick .
FUNDING SUPPORT FOR SMES
SMEs across County Durham could access up to £ 40,000 of funding to help develop new ways of using materials within the energy sector .
The Energy Innovation Challenge , organised by the North East Energy Catalyst , invites businesses to put forward new ways of using materials to reduce costs , improve efficiency , or bring other benefits to energy infrastructure .
David Lynch , energy innovation partnership manager at the North East Local Enterprise Partnership ( LEP ), explained : “ We know that we have forward-thinking and creative businesses operating here in the North East and we want to give SMEs the opportunity to develop new products and materials with support and funding .”
The Energy Innovation Challenge is led by the North East Energy Catalyst , a partnership of the North East ’ s energy sector organisations which aims to showcase the North East ’ s capabilities in developing solutions to the world ’ s energy challenges .
