ON POINT Aycliffe tech firm wins new deal

A

successful creative design studio based in Newton Aycliffe that doubles up as a distillery is not the most common collaboration .

Arron Stoutt , Andy Mogg and Steve Gill – who run Aycliffe-based design studio LemonTop Creative – have launched their LemonTop Gin .
It took almost a year to perfect the recipe and involved tasting trips across Europe during 2019 to find the very best lemons .

Newton Aycliffe firm Excelpoint is celebrating a new partnership with global software specialist Altia-ABM .

The new deal will see the Aycliffe Business Park-based business provide a software platform for future Altia-ABM customer solutions .
It will also extend the technical capabilities of Altia-ABM and broaden the reach of Excelpoint into new sectors and global territories .
With offices in the UK , Canada , Asia Pacific and Australia , Altia-ABM will implement Excelpoint ’ s no-code software to enable organisations to achieve increased productivity and agility , create operational excellence , and realise significant cost-savings .

FUNDING FOR RAISCO A Newton Aycliffe steel fabrication firms has secured £ 805,000 from HSBC UK to purchase its premises .
Raisco , a specialist in structural steelwork , had been leasing its 45,000 sq ft premises on Aycliffe Business Park for the past nine years .
The funding has enabled Raisco to take ownership of the Langton Park premises , securing the long-term future of the business .
ROMAN DONATION Newton Aycliffe-based luxury online homewares retailer , Roman at Home , donated an assortment of slate accessories to a local charity , St Teresa ’ s Hospice , following the enforcement of a second national lockdown which forced charity shops and non-essential businesses to close their doors again .
Roman at Home donated slate products to the value of over £ 1,000 for sale in the hospice ’ s charity shops to help raise much needed funds in a time of uncertainty and difficulty .
APPRENTICESHIP BOOST Durham County Council has been acknowledged as one of the top employers in the country for its apprenticeship opportunities .
The local authority was awarded a place in the government ’ s Top 100 Apprenticeships Employers list , joining ten other local authorities who have made the list .
ARLINGTON JOBS SAVED Warwickshire-based international automotive supplier Ricor Global has acquired the assets of Arlington Automotive ’ s Newton Aycliffe site , which was placed into administration earlier this year .
Ricor has acquired the North-East division , based on Aycliffe Business Park , and will trade as Ricor North East from its existing facility , with 60 existing jobs saved initially .
