Despite what appeared to be a tragic exit from the series in the Season 3 finale , the above trailer gave us the first spoiler that Hopper would return .
Harbour has addressed his involvement in the upcoming season in numerous interviews . But one of our favorites was with Entertainment Tonight , where here said : “ There ’ s one thing in it that plays very big in this season that I ’ ve known since the first frame of the first season . Me and the Duffers ( Creators , Matt and Ross Duffer ) would sit around and speculate , ‘ Oh , wouldn ’ t this be cool ?’ the minute we started shooting . We never thought we ’ d even get a second season , and then we get to do it in this season .”
Hmmm …. what are your theories on what it could be ? We do know that we ’ ll be getting a lot of Hopper ’ s backstory in the new season . And we can ’ t wait for it !
The Season 4 Cast Fans can expect for the core cast to return for the new episodes : Eleven ( Millie Bobby Brown ), Mike ( Finn Wolfhard ), Lucas ( Caleb McLaughlin ), Dustin ( Gaten Matarazzo ), Will ( Noah Schnapp ), Max ( Sadie Sink ), Steve ( Joe Keery ), Nancy ( Natalia Dyer ), Jonathan ( Charlie Heaton ), Robin ( Maya Hawke ) and Joyce ( Winona Ryder ), among others .
The official Twitter account for the series also revealed that we ’ re getting some new names joining the cast for Season 4 . Fans will meet Myles Truitt , who will play Patrick , a Hawkin ’ s High basketball player . We don ’ t know much about Patrick other than his life will be “ spiraling out of control ” after a series of “ shocking events ”.
Amybeth McNulty is also joining the cast and will play Vickie , who we already love after reading her description . Vickie will be “ a cool , fast-talking band nerd who catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes .”
How Many Episodes Will There Be in Season 4 ? We ’ re assuming that there will be between 8 and 9 episodes in the new season . The writers of the series posted a photo to Twitter in June of 2020 . The caption noted that they had finished writing the season . In the photo itself , we saw 9 scripts sitting on a desk .
Will There Be a Stranger Things Season 5 ? We ’ re having to wait a bit longer than we ’ d like for Stranger Things 4 , but we know it will be worth it . Our biggest concern – will there be a Stranger Things Season 5 ? Or will this be the closing chapter for our favorite characters ? As the core cast members ( Millie Bobby Brown , Gaten Matarazzo , Noah Schnapp , and Finn Wolfhard ) aren ’ t going to be believable as kids much longer . But maybe that ’ s okay too !
