Make mine a macchiato ! food & drink

Our favourite spots for coffee

New kids on the block

Kavi Coffee opened its doors in Jewry Street in May and has quickly become a favourite . It has plenty of seating , making it great for your daily caffeine fix or a meeting place for brunch or lunch . Coffee is at the heart of what they do but look out for their ‘ house ’ bacon rolls or scrummy Winchester Buns .

Local coffee from local people

You can ’ t get much more local than a cup of coffee from Winchester Coffee Roasters in Winnall . Beans are roasted and ground on site and you can talk all-things coffee over a cuppa with the team , who are passionate about what they do . 01962 883655 www . winchestercoffeeroasters . co . uk

A brew with a view

The Handlebar Café run by Cadence Cycle Club can be found near St Catherine ’ s Hill and the Garnier Road car park and serves their own house blend Cadence coffee that can also be taken away . It ’ s a mecca for walkers and cyclists and there ’ s a great menu of locally-sourced food including sourdough toasties named after their cycling heroes !

Did you know ?
Many of the city coffee shops will give you used grinds if you ask nicely . They ’ re great as a mulch and rich in micronutrients as well as being a natural deterrent for slugs and snails . Perfect for coffee-loving gardeners !
