Inspirational – Debbie Coulson from Teesside Hospice gave a moving speech at the 2022 Tees Tech Awards .
Those who attended the Tees Tech Awards have been thanked for their generosity after nearly £ 2,500 was raised at the event for Teesside
Hospice .
A total of £ 2,390 was collected at the event organised by Tees Business in association with partners DigitalCity and Middlesbrough Digital .
“ We are just blown away by the generosity of everyone who gave so generously at the Tees Tech Awards ,” said Anne Cooling , head of corporate development .
“ Myself and my colleague Debbie Coulson , director of income generation , had a wonderful night as guests of Tees Business and Debbie was pleased to have
the opportunity to say a few words about the hospice , which really helped raise awareness of the vital things we do .”
The money was raised via an envelope draw that took place at the awards , which were held at Hardwick Hall Hotel .
The 310 guests on the evening certainly dug deep and the money raised will be a significant help to the hospice , which needs to raise £ 5,600 each day to continue end-of-life care for local people .
It was DigitalCity ’ s David Dixon – crowned Tees Tech Ambassador at the event – who suggested the hospice as the awards ’ chosen charity .
“ Hospices play such an intrinsic role in many of our lives ,” he said . “ They are a fundamental bedrock of community and right now , hospices need us .
“ With the recent appeals around the war in Ukraine and the rising cost of living , there has been a marked drop in income across the charity sector .
“ We collectively couldn ’ t think of a more worthy cause , and it was an honour for the Tees Tech Awards to play a role in raising awareness and donations towards the amazing Teesside Hospice .”
Tees Business director Dave Allan added : “ It ’ s fantastic that those who attended the Tech Awards so generously rallied around Teesside Hospice at a time when they most need the support of the local business community .
“ The awards are rooted in the same Tees region that the hospice serves , so nothing could be more appropriate than supporting the hospice in this way .”
