Inspiring Others category gets PD Ports backing

The importance of female role models in industry “ cannot be underestimated ”, says PD Ports .

And it ’ s with such a mindset that the Teesport operator says it ’ s pleased to sponsor the Inspiring Others category in this year ’ s Tees Businesswomen Awards .
The ceremony – to be held this year in the grand marquee at Hardwick Hall on September 27 – is now firmly established as a celebration of the region ’ s female business leaders and female-led organisations .
And PD Ports says the event is the “ perfect platform ” to recognise our area ’ s businesswomen – at a time when the firm is working hard to increase its gender diversity .
CEO Frans Calje said : “ At PD Ports , we believe in empowering our people to enact positive change on the business by being proactive , sharing suggestions and offering support to those around them to allow them to make a real difference to the way in which we operate .
“ For us , it ’ s so important that we draw attention to real role models who live and work among us , going the extra mile every day to drive change and make a real difference , and that ’ s why we are delighted to sponsor this category .
On board – PD Ports head of PR , marketing and communications Kirsten Donkin with Tees Business sales manager Chris Garbutt .
“ As we work in a typically maledominated sector , we cannot underestimate the impact that positive female role models can have on making our industry more attractive to the next generation of young women .”
The fifth annual Tees Businesswomen Awards are again organised by Tees Business in association with headline sponsor Northern Skills Group , the training and apprenticeships company of Middlesbrough College .
