Superlec moving to customdesigned premises
Superlec Electrical Distributors has a mammoth year ahead planned - starting with the launch of an updated website , designed in-house , and culminating in a move to a bespoke warehouse and office .
Manager Ian Richardson explained : “ Our success has enabled us to invest at a time when many other companies are struggling .
“ By providing quality products at betterthan-trade prices , we have been able to capitalise during difficult trading conditions .
“ We have also redeveloped the website to make it easier to browse and buy from our huge range of products .”
Superlec has outgrown its current facilities within Cleveland Cable Company and has invested in premises in nearby Barton Road , half a mile away .
In order to further grow the online business , it has invested in a new racking and packaging conveyor system to reduce the previous bottlenecks found in picking , packaging and dispatching goods ordered

Ian added : “ We stock more than 8,000 product lines and the current facilities are now just too small for us .
“ Barton Road will contain 20,000 sq ft of warehousing capacity , 3,500 sq ft of office space , a custom packaging area , trade counter and parking for 35 cars .
“ We have one of the largest product ranges in the market sector , available for collection at our trade counter or delivery via courier with free same-day dispatch on orders over £ 50 .
“ What really sets us apart from our competitors , however , is our aggressive price checking – we always aim to offer customers the lowest prices available in like-for-like comparisons .”
Ian said that to ensure a smooth transition to the new premises , Superlec has been recruiting team members across all disciplines for the last six months “ to make sure we can hit the ground running .” He added : “ As well as the additional warehouse room , the new building will also be home for the admin and sales team and provide the additional space we need for the next stage in our development .
“ The warehousing and offices are currently undergoing the final fit in preparation for the move . It ’ s something the whole team is excited about .”
