Marketing company welcomes Courtney Jones to its team

WORDS : DAVE ROBSON : CHRIS BOOTH

It ’ s a firm born out of its parent company ’ s success – and now Cornerstone Marketing Solutions has welcomed another bright talent on board .

The online social media marketing company was launched in 2020 after its parent firm , Cornerstone Business Solutions , was looking to market its services and grow its brand .
Realising they were doing it pretty well themselves , the firm ’ s bosses decided to keep things “ in house ” and Cornerstone Marketing Solutions was born .
The idea was to not only do Cornerstone Group ’ s own marketing , but to offer its services and expertise to others .
And in less than two years , it has really taken off , with the client base growing month on month .
And now it ’ s been given another boost with the recruitment of marketing firm owner Courtney Jones .
Courtney , of Middlesbrough , ran her own company , Kiwi Marketing . But the chance of teaming up with Cornerstone – whose boss , Chris Petty , she ’ s known for years – was too good to turn down .
And for Chris , acquiring Kiwi Marketing was a logical next step for Cornerstone .
He said : “ Courtney ’ s a great person who was doing a cracking job with her own business .
“ We were looking to grow , so we spoke to her and thought she ’ d be a great asset to our team .
“ We agreed to take over her company and now Courtney has come to Cornerstone .”
The Cornerstone Group comprises the main company , Cornerstone Business Solutions , along with Cornerstone Marketing Solutions and “ big screen ” specialists Cornerstone Visual Media Solutions .
And Chris admits it ’ s been quite a journey since Cornerstone was founded 14 years ago .
He said : “ We ’ ve become pretty well known within the region and this is where Cornerstone Marketing Solutions was born .
“ Because of the successes we had , especially with the way we got our name out there , people used to ask us who we used for our marketing and it was simple – we did it ourselves .
“ We thought there was a market there to help other companies , so we formed CMS just off the back of people asking us who did our marketing .
“ And the proof is in the pudding . People can pitch whatever to you , but we can just say , ‘ Look what we ’ ve achieved within Teesside , look where our brand is ’.
“ Then there was the next stage of , ‘ How do you grow further ?’ We spoke with Courtney , took over Kiwi and brought Courtney into the company to help us with our expansion .
“ Courtney , with what she ’ s done already on her own , is fantastic and has some good clients on board . She ’ s a lovely person . She ’ s going to be helping out from a marketing point of view , helping clients look at their social strategies and going out there to bring new clients on board .”
She ’ s also joining an award-winning business , as Cornerstone Marketing Solutions picked up the Best New Creative Business award at the 2021 Tees Tech Awards .
And she admits she ’ s delighted to be part of the Cornerstone Group of businesses , whose current major projects include a huge laptop contract for online doctors and , on top of working with the likes of Teesside International Airport , Teesworks and the Globe in Stockton , plans a big screen for Darlington town centre .
Courtney said : “ I ’ m delighted to have been given the opportunity to join forces with a company of Cornerstone ’ s magnitude .
“ Having known Chris for many years , there was no hesitation . And with the ambitious plans for Cornerstone Group , the position fits perfectly with me .”
Chris added : “ We ’ re growing month on month and with bringing Courtney in , that growth should expand more quickly .
“ We ’ d only been going a year when we won the Best New Tees Business creative award . Now , to get further growth and take over a company , is fantastic news for us . We ’ re putting ourselves out there as one of the main ‘ go-tos ’ for marketing .”
