On behalf of everyone at Jacksons Law Firm , I ’ m proud to welcome you to the year ’ s first issue of Tees Business . While there continues to be much uncertainty in the world , and all our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine , on a brighter note it seems that we ’ re hopefully starting to put behind us the worst perils of the Covid pandemic .
I ’ ve been hugely impressed with the positivity of the region ’ s businesses throughout the pandemic and that ongoing confidence is reflected in this issue of Tees Business , in which you can read about the good news , contract successes and new services and products from the broadest spectrum of organisations .
As one of the region ’ s most long-established businesses , dating back to 1876 , Jacksons Law Firm is proud to again support the forthcoming Tees Tech Awards , celebrating some of Tees Valley ’ s most innovative , future-focused businesses .
This is the third successive year Jacksons has sponsored the Small Business of the Year category at what is a wonderful celebration of the amazing achievements of businesses within our thriving digital sector .
With Covid restrictions lifting , we ’ re also excited to be able to return to face-to-face events and are therefore relaunching our own events including TS18 - our popular Teesside networking event - and the Network , for the region ’ s young professionals .
Since succeeding Jane Armitage as Jacksons ’ managing partner last year , I ’ ve been keen to work with the next generation . Eight years ago , when Jane became MD , Jacksons was a partnership which was entirely of the same generation and was becoming a little bit long in the tooth .
We have now completely restructured our business leadership , firstly to create a younger partnership with energy and ambition , and secondly to expand its field of expertise . We are no longer the traditional partnership comprised only of lawyers .
We have partners from finance and marketing backgrounds who have brought an entirely different perspective to what we do . These are the people who will take Jacksons forward for years and years to come – and it is that combination of all skills that will take our region forward too , helping us navigate through the undoubted challenges , but also the unprecedented opportunities .
