Annmarie Antunes , Nudl A Teesside funding consultancy is investing in its own future after growing its team .
Nudl was launched by Shak Asghar to help firms access the financial support they need to grow .
The firm , which launched in March 2021 , now has five team members , with chief operations officer Annmarie Antunes – pictured ( centre ) with Shak Asghar and Zara Ford – being the latest addition , to help to drive the business forward .
Annmarie has more than 20 years of experience within finance and HR working for a range of private firms , including SMEs .
Annmarie said : “ This is a very exciting time for Nudl – and for me .
“ I ’ ve always been passionate about helping other businesses to succeed and this role allows me to have a very real hand in doing that .
“ I ’ ve travelled the world for my career , but I was born in Saltburn , so the Teesside area is very close to my heart . I ’ m delighted to be in a role where I can help to put the region on the map – where it should be .”
Shak , who has more than 15 years of experience in the funding industry , launched Nudl in early 2021 along with colleague Zara Ford .
Since launching , Nudl has worked with clients from a diverse range of sectors , bringing around £ 6.5m of investment to the UK economy , from companies based all over the world , creating approximately 300 jobs .
Sue Hayes , GBB GBB , a new bank focused on lending to underserved regions of the UK , has announced the appointment of Sue Hayes as its CEO .
GBB – based in Middlesbrough ’ s Centre Square – will be a dedicated lender to SME property developers in key underserved UK regions , with a focus on regional property developers , initially in the North- East , and will support the levelling up agenda and help get Britain building again .
Sue joins as chief executive officer to lead it through the regulatory process of becoming a bank and brings a wealth of financial services and fintech experience , having spent more than three decades in banking , working for some of the largest established players and fastest-growing challengers .
Throughout her career , Sue has championed the customer through the development of innovative products and solutions by placing customer experience at the heart of proposition development .
Before GBB , Sue led the retail finance business at Aldermore , one of the first wave of challenger banks .
She also held executive positions at HBOS and ran retail and business banking at Santander before moving to Barclays Bank where she led business banking , with over a million customers and 4,000 colleagues .
Sue ’ s appointment is another coup for GBB and follows the appointment of non-executive chairman , Paul Rippon , who co-founded two digital banks , Monzo and Starling .
GBB is currently in the process of gaining a banking licence and in 2020 was delighted to announce it had secured £ 20m investment from the Teesside Pension Fund ( TCF ). Tim Parker and Lauren Old , DTW Marketing and public relations agency DTW has strengthened its team with the
appointment of two new specialists . The award-winning agency , which is based in the Tees region , has welcomed Lauren Old as a public relations , engagement and public affairs strategist , and Tim Parker as an animation and illustration creative .
The new appointments mark a busy period for DTW , which has secured several new clients , as well as new projects
with existing clients , both in the UK and internationally .
Lauren , from Peterlee in County Durham , brings seven years ’ public relations experience in the travel , retail , hospitality and finance sectors and has an MA in Public Relations from the University of Sunderland .
Tim , from Hull , has a BA ( Hons ) degree in Film and TV Production from Northumbria University and has been completing freelance animation projects for studios in Newcastle and Leeds .
Sharon Hutchinson , Waltons Clark Whitehill A team of chartered accountants has strengthened its management team with two senior appointments .
Waltons Clark Whitehill has appointed Sharon Hutchinson as operations director , with Paul Harrison taking on the role of managing director .
Paul , who has been a partner for 13 years , succeeds Heather O ’ Driscoll , who is remaining with the business as a senior director after a successful 10-year period at the helm .
Sharon has been brought into the firm to free up client-facing time for the senior team , with a remit to run all operations of the business .
Lewis Poppleton , Baines Jewitt Chartered Accountants Chartered accountancy firm Baines Jewitt has welcomed 19-year-old Lewis Poppleton from Norton to its practice .
Before starting work , Lewis was studying A-Levels in Maths , Accounting and Economics at Durham Sixth Form Centre . He is delighted to have secured his first professional job as a trainee accounting technician .
As well as helping with accounts preparation and VAT returns , Lewis is also studying towards the Association of Accounting Technicians ( AAT ) Level 3 qualification as part of his professional training programme .
