How Intasite is powering through site turnarounds during pandemic
A
rapidly expanding health and safety software business has added another prestigious client to its growing portfolio .
Intasite has further developed its platform to help secure sites power through the problems associated with the Covid pandemic .
Operating and facilitating induction and contractor management software for high-hazard and controlled operations , the team supports large-scale sites within the chemical , construction , renewables , manufacturing and ports and shipping industries , among others .
The Teesside-based tech company has noticed a significant need to conduct inductions remotely throughout the pandemic , which has led to the development of new platform features to aid the safe induction process of visitors and contractors where sites have continued to operate within these industries .
In particular , Intasite has adapted and developed its system to accommodate the onboarding process for contractors throughout chemical plant shutdowns and turnarounds . This has resulted in significant cost and time-saving efficiencies .
Intasite recently helped the UK ’ s premier fertiliser manufacturer , CF Fertilisers , at its local plant in Billingham , which will result in the safe induction of 1,000 contractors for its Nitric and Ammonia turnarounds – major maintenance and inspection projects involving the closures of the CF plants .
“ A plant turnaround can be a monumental project ,” said Intasite director Danielle Croce . “ Safety at work and plant integrity is the primary focus , while time , cost and budget on the other hand will be a high priority for management .
“ Inducting hundreds of contractors on to a site in one go can be a difficult task under any normal circumstances , but trying to plan all of this during a pandemic can be a real struggle , so the added features that have been introduced specifically for managing work through Covid-19 have been welcomed by CF Fertilisers and many other new and existing clients .”
Lee Hepple , environment , health and safety manager for CF Fertilisers , said : “ Since last March , all of us have had to overcome many challenges due to Covid . We have been working closely with Intasite who initially created an excellent sitespecific Covid instructional safety video .
“ Following this professional piece of work , they have since implemented the online induction process for CF Billingham site ’ s upcoming maintenance turnarounds .
“ The process of online inductions significantly helps CF communicate site safety requirements effectively . It has been a pleasure working with the team at Intasite to bring our turnaround induction processes to a new level . We have already begun working together to implement our day-to-day safety induction process .”
The new changes have been welcomed across the industrial sector , with Intasite putting pen to paper on numerous new contracts despite the pandemic . This is on the back of being a Business of the Year finalist in the Tees Businesswomen Awards , together with a further shortlisting for SME of the Year .
“ Even being nominated for such a prestigious award is well ahead of schedule for us , so we were thrilled to be involved ,” said Danielle . “ It raises our profile and provides recognition of the brand expanding .
“ There are some amazing businesses in the Tees Valley and getting the chance to be mentioned in the same arena is really inspiring .”
