Cleveland Bridge wins award for work on Humber
Cleveland Bridge UK has seen two of its significant recent projects recognised at the Construction News Specialists Awards 2020 .
The Construction News Specialist Awards are the only national awards that recognise the best specialist contractors from across the UK .
The awards , which took place virtually , saw Cleveland Bridge UK scrutinised by a judging panel made up of the UK ’ s largest construction firms along with leaders of the country ’ s major projects .
Cleveland Bridge UK was highly commended in the Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor ( subcontract £ 2m- £ 5m ) for its cable inspection project on the iconic Humber Bridge .

Airport launches partnership with Rockliffe Hall
Teesside International Airport has unveiled a new partnership with five-star luxury hotel Rockliffe Hall in Darlington .
This relationship will see the airport work closely with the golf and spa hotel to help sell the Tees Valley , with VIPs flying into the area being offered highquality accommodation .
Cross-promotion will see the hotel highlight the airport as a friendly , convenient way to get to destinations across the UK and worldwide via its connection to London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schiphol .
At the same time , Teesside International will fly the flag for Rockliffe Hall , the only five-star hotel in the Tees Valley .
National Horizons Centre supports innovative skincare company
Facilities at the new National Horizons Centre are helping a North-East company develop skincare and skin health products which will benefit millions of people around the world .
Hexis Lab has created new systems that enable skincare companies to develop novel products by skin type or ethnicity .
The lab is using the Darlingtonbased £ 22.3m centre of excellence for the bioscience industries to help research the different properties of natural compounds .
In 2019 the National Horizons Centre was opened by Teesside University to provide a dedicated learning and teaching facility to develop the skills and capability to grow the bioscience industry .
TOP ACCREDITATION FOR TRAINING MARKETING COURSE
Darlington-based Red Button Marketing & Training ’ s innovative new marketing strategy training course has been independently verified by the Institute of Leadership and Management , opening a new pathway for learners to access institute membership .
The company ’ s strategic marketing workshop is the first in the region to be approved by the institute , which means that it meets their evidence-based standards known as the Five Dimensions of Leadership – authenticity , vision , achievement , ownership and collaboration .
This latest achievement adds to its success earlier this year when the same course was awarded Continuing Professional Development accreditation and underpins the course as an effective management training and support tool .
