Born in Grangetown, he lives in Billingham. Least favourite food: Oysters E: [email protected] GRAEME ROWATT, PHOTOGRAPHER With a studio based in Darlington, Graeme has been a professional photographer for “a few years!” He’s interested in people, technology and automobiles. She moved to London at 19 and became a freelance writer across national tabloids, health, spiritual and bridal titles. She has more than 25 years’ experience as a news and features journalist, interviewing and writing about the people and places that make us tick. Least favourite food: Cheesecake COLIN YOUNG, FEATURE WRITER A journalist with more than 30 years’ experience, Colin started his career at his local paper, the Yorkshire Evening Press in York. He had long spells as the North-East football correspondent for daily nationals The Sun and Daily Mail. Now a freelance writer and author, Colin is co-editor of Tees Business’s sister publication Wear Business. Least favourite food: Cauliflower E: [email protected] MICHAEL MCGEARY, EDITOR AND FEATURE WRITER Michael is a bit like the third musketeer, having also worked alongside Tees Business owners Dave Allan and Martin Walker in Boro’s media department. He lives in Middlesbrough and runs a PR and ghostwriting business. Least favourite food: Meringue E: [email protected] PETER BARRON MBE, FEATURE WRITER Born in Saltburn and brought up in Middlesbrough, Peter’s 40-year career includes being the longest-serving editor in the Northern Echo’s history. A former UK Columnist of the Year and North-East Journalist of the Year, he received an MBE for services to journalism. Least favourite food: Broccoli E: [email protected] HARRY PEARSON, COLUMNIST Great Ayton-born Harry has been a freelance writer since 1987. He wrote more than 800 sports columns for The Guardian and is the author of 11 nonfiction books including The Far Corner – A Mazy Dribble Through North-East Football. He also holds an honorary degree with Teesside University. Least favourite food: Olives E: [email protected] CHRIS BOOTH, PHOTOGRAPHER Former Northern Echo lensman Chris, who lives in Darlington, has photographed everything from village fetes to the London Olympics. He loves nothing more than being creative and adding an extra dimension to his images. He specialises in editorial, commercial, PR and sport. He’s been in photography almost half a century, having worked at the Gazette for more than 30 years. Least favourite food: Celery E: [email protected] BOB CUFFE MBE, NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR A Redcar-born Stokesley resident, Bob’s 30-year media career began in sales at the Evening Gazette in Middlesbrough, where he rose to be regional MD responsible for the Gazette, Chronicle and Journal. He’s now a chair, vice-chair and nonexecutive director. Least favourite food: Sprouts MARTIN WALKER, EXECUTIVE EDITOR Tees Business was Martin’s fault. It was his idea and he now co-owns the magazine’s company, Resolution. Aycliffeborn Martin started out the Gazette, worked at Middlesbrough FC and Sunderland AFC. He also runs his own PR business which publishes Aycliffe Business. Least favourite food: Parmo E: [email protected] DAVE ALLAN, EXECUTIVE EDITOR Dave has spent his career in PR and communications, initially with ICI on Teesside and in Cheshire before 17 years at Middlesbrough FC, working alongside Steve McClaren, Gareth Southgate and Tony Mowbray.
