EDITOR ’ S NOTE

Dear Readers ,
Firstly , I would like to thank you so much for purchasing a copy of Spirit Lamp , Winchester College ’ s arts and literature magazine . It has now been just over a year since the last Spirit Lamp edition was published and we can assure you that the wait was worthwhile . Spirit Lamp is the only school magazine which showcases such a varied collection of some truly phenomenal art and literature .
Spirit Lamp has now been running strongly for over ten years and will continue to do so for a long time . Our aim is to exhibit the creative works of students as well as to encourage active participation among them .
This year , I have the honour of writing to you as the editor of this distinguished magazine . There were a number of worthy entries for this magazine and hand-picking a select few was by no means an easy job , taking a lot of work from our team of fifteen people . We are grateful to the previous team who did so much in generating the wealth of material from which we could choose . We would like to also thank everyone very much for contributions to this edition and hope that you enjoy it and continue submitting entries for future editions .
