Hello my name is Eryk. In this article, I will be talking about some of the things I have managed to achieve whilst studying at CCSW.

I started College back in 2018 when I was a very studious, shy and independent learner. College allowed me to improve my teamwork so that I do not always work on my own. It turns out that working as part of a team is just as fun as working by yourself, teamwork is very important wherever you go in life – jobs, catering courses, schools. Teamwork is needed everywhere! During my first year at College, I managed to improve my confidence and communication skills, and these skills are also very important in life.

Secondly, during my time at College I achieved something I always wanted to do and that is taking part in National Citizen Service (NCS). At NCS I gained a First Aid qualification and managed to beat my fear of heights by going on the ‘3G Swing’. I believe, if it were not for College providing the opportunity to do NCS, I would never overcome my fear of heights.

Lastly, during this academic year, I have managed to achieve becoming the Student President for CCSW. I have also gained a Level 1 Diploma in Professional Cookery. My current College course has allowed me to improve my knowledge about various skills and aspects of the hospitality and catering industry, including food and beverage service, customer service, teamwork and how the different styles of service work. The different styles of service include silver service, tray service, plate only service, and buffet service.
