How did you and you decide to organize the conference?

It started off as an idea after we attended BIGMUN, the biggest conference in Scandinavia in February. Angela, Omamen and I then started drafting a long email to our then MUN director Miss Abenaa. We sadly were hit with our first lockdown shortly after, but as soon as we were back in school, we had the chance to present the idea to our school heads. It was approved and we began working on it as our Personal Projects.

What was the process like of organizing the conference like for you?

It was very stressful but it was very fun at the same time. We had a lot of work to do and not so much time nor people involved, but working with one another really brought us closer as a friend group.

Were there any challenges?  How did you overcome them?

The most challenging thing was working with some of your closed friends. You dont realize how hard it is to work with your close friends for a year until you do it. I think we really tested our limits as a friend group. We are all very opinionated which made it hard for us to agree on anything and ultimately our communication skills got the best of us. We had to work on listening to each other and keeping a open mind before replying. If that didn't work we had to get one of our friends or Miss A to step in to help us resolve the issue.

What was the best part about organizing the conference? Why?

The friendships we have created through it. Before the conference we had organized mini events which held up to the conference where students from around the world could come together to discuss human rights. We felt so proud to see everyone come together and reflect and understand how someone's surroundings, upbringings, and culture effect their views and understanding of a issue. We got to talk to so many amazing people which will be an experience we would have never had if it wasn't for the conference and mini event.

What are you looking forward to the most in this conference?

We cant wait to meet the delegates, and see all the debates.
