TRADITIONAL CHOIR SHOWCASE
For over forty five years the choir has rendered countless selections of praise,
worship, encouragement, and good ol' fashion gospel music throughout the community.
The choir has performed in various venues such as schools, hotels, political rally's, media events, amusement parks, charity fundraisers and more.
Not only has the choir traveled extensively around Mid-Michigan but also around the country singing in such states as Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, and our nation's capital, Washington, D.C. The House of Prayer Choir has also had the privilege of being on programs with many gospel greats such as: A. Jeffrey. LaValley and The New Jerusalem Baptist Church Choir, Keith Pringle, Crystal Rucker, Kenneth Martin and The Voices In Praise, Dianne Williams, Ricky Dillard & New G, Antonio Clark & New Mercy, The Mississippi Mass Choir, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Rance Allen,
Vanessa Bell Armstrong,
Lee Williams (Spiritual QC's), Karen Clark-Sheard, Williams Brothers,
ierra Sheard, and Dr. Charles G. Hayes and The Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer Choir to name a few. The Choir was also featured in two stage plays: It's Praying Time" and “What Would Jesus Do”.
The House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church Choir
was founded and organized by the beloved founding Pastor, Charlie Thrower in 1966. With the help of God, former Pastor Thrower and current Pastor Kenneth Stewart, the choir has experienced phenomenal growth. Since its inception in 1966 over 400 people have been a part of this singing aggregation we call "The Mass Choir."
