The STARS Series has been around at ISRA for 10 incredible seasons. ISRA is a top tier road course league. They were approached by Dominic Carelli and Darrell McKee about bringing the series over here from another league. The admins at ISRA welcomed the idea with open arms and since the first race that was run here, it has been a great ride. Championships have been won or lost in the last race in quite a few of the past seasons.
Season 1 saw 69 drivers attempt at least 1 race. The inaugural race was run at Daytona where Tim Johnston barely edged out Dylan Duval with a .053s margin of victory. Toby Jenkins went on to win the championship that season and has since gone on to win 5 more giving him a total of 6. He’s been called the Jimmie Johnson of our series.
Dominic and Darrell have been running the series since before it became a part of ISRA. They would handle the forums while and take care of making sure that the servers were ready to go each and every week. Both of them do a fantastic job of making sure that everyone is prepared to race each and every week.
After Season 9, Dominic and Darrell decided to bring in Tim Johnston as a 3rd admin. While he doesn’t do a lot in terms of setting up servers and being an in race admin, all of the graphic work comes from him. He wants to give the drivers here the same thing that he gets in the real racing world with win banners, pole banners etc.
