Pregnancy & Mammography

A topic that is commonly debated is the safety of mammography during pregnancy. As a matter of fact, the safety of this process being done during pregnancy depends on the stage of the fetus. The fetus, where the baby "lives" for nine months can be severely damaged if exposed to a certain amount of radiation. The damage of the fetus leads to birth defects and possible death of the future baby. This puts women who may have higher risks of cancer in a position where they need to make a big decision.
