Making an impression at FABTECH
AIDA-America, a metal stamping press manufacturer in Dayton, OH( USA), and HMS Products Co.( a press automation manufacturer based in Troy, MI, USA) will exhibit advanced servo press and transfer system technology in booth D40902 at FABTECH 2025 in Chicago, IL( USA). The trade show will be held from 8-11 September 2025. Two AIDA servo presses and multiple HMS transfer system components will be on display.
AIDA-America will partner with Dallas Industries, Pax Products, Inc., Roemheld and Tower Metalworking Fluids to demonstrate a 300-ton straightside servo press as part of a full progressive die production line, stamping parts. This two-point, direct drive DSF-N2-AB servo press features AIDA’ s Allen-Bradley servo control system, locally developed, manufactured and supported by a team of AIDA Controls engineers based in Dayton, OH. Standard control system features include:
Below L-R: AIDA DSF-N2-3000AB straightside servo press and an AIDA DSF-C1-2000A gap frame servo press.
■ Allen-Bradley GuardLogix ®
■ Swing-arm mounted 12-inch colour touch-screen HMI
■ Optical run buttons for ease of use
■ Hand-held step-feed( CNC handwheel) slide motion control for reduced set-up time.
HMS series 800HD transfer module.
“ Like all AIDA servo presses, the DSF-N2-3000AB press includes an AIDA designed and built, low-speed, high-torque servo motor specifically manufactured for stamping press applications. It combines the rigidity of a unitised frame with the flexibility of freely programmable servo motion. DSF- N2-AB Series presses are offered in 200- and 300-ton models,” explained AIDA.
HMS series 800HD transfer control console.
Additional standard DSF-N2-AB features are:
■ NEMA 13 rated floor-standing cabinets with flexible placement options
■ Pneumatic safety brake integrated with safety controller for additional, redundant layer of safety
■ Full-length, six-point slide guide system, set to maintain slide to bolster parallelism
■ Recirculating oil lubrication system that provides clean oil in metered amounts to all bearing points.
A 200-ton AIDA DSF-C1-A gap frame servo press will run several optimised slide motion profiles that are only achievable on a servo press. This single point servo press also showcases AIDA’ s Allen-Bradley control with many of the same features noted in the DSF-N2-AB control system. DSF-C1-A Series presses are offered in a range of tonnages from 80 to 250. Additional highlights include a new servo motor with 5-10 % higher speeds than previous generations, a capacitor-based Energy Conservation and
Optimisation( ECO) system that reduces peak energy draw and an Electronic Over Load Protection( EOLP) system that monitors applied torque throughout the complete stroke to prevent overloading.
HMS part-specific transfer tooling examples will also be on display at FABTECH, including fully encapsulated static fingers, third-party pneumatic component integration options and full simulation( die review) services. A partial HMS Series 800HD servo transfer module will be demonstrated, integrated with an interactive transfer control console. Series 800HD transfers are designed for through-the-window applications. HMS also manufactures a complete line of front- and rear-mounted transfer systems and frontand end-of line automation solutions.
The Series 800HD control console features three-axis motion hardware, full programmability, a complete display of transfer capabilities and integrated transfer profile optimisation software. n
