FOCUS ON STAMPING

MAKING ITS MARK

We highlight an alphabetical selection of the latest new stamping , tooling and pressing innovations in the global market .

“ Better control , greater speed and versatility , shorter cycle times and higher energy savings are just some of the hallmarks of the latest new stamping technologies .”

Metal stamping , or pressing , converts flat metal sheet ( or blanks ), as well as coil , into specific shapes . It is a complex process that includes several metalforming techniques such as blanking ; punching ; flanging ; drawing ; embossing ; trimming ; coining and piercing . Stamping dies are the tools that shape and cut sheet metal parts .

The global metal stamping market was valued at US $ 213.8 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach US $ 257.1 billion by 2028 , according to analyst Markets & Markets . Market growth , it confirmed , is driven by the increasing use of metal stamped in the construction , medical and automotive industries as well as the increasing demand for metal stampings in electrical and electronic products . Industrial machinery is the second largest end-use industry for metal stamping ( for components such as gears , housings and brackets ).
Some of the most common types of metal stamping machines include mechanical , hydraulic , hydroforming and servo presses that are fitted with multiple dies to cut and shape metal sheets of stainless steel as well as aluminium , zinc and copper etc . Better control , greater speed and versatility , shorter cycle times and higher energy savings are just some of the hallmarks of the latest technologies . In this article , we highlight an alphabetical selection of the latest new global stamping and pressing innovations .
Selected innovations
In 2021 , AIDA launched its new DSF- NE2 , a monolithic two-point servo press that combines the high rigidity structure of the monobloc frame with the flexibility of

At EuroBLECH 2024 , it will provide information on its new DSF- NE2 monoblock servo press as well as the AIDA press line series including transfer , progressive and lamination presses .
The complete AIDA press line series includes servo presses ; high-speed automatic presses for motor core lamination and precision forming presses . Its AET ( AIDA
Electronic Transfer ) solution enables the movement of blanks and parts in multi-station or interconnected presses . It was designed for retrofit installations and can be integrated to all brands of mechanical and servo presses .
Two AIDA presses were demonstrated at this year ’ s FABTECH Mexico event ( 7-9 May 2024 ): an AIDA NC1 single-point mechanical press ( models range from 35-250 tons ) and AIDA ’ s A Series single-point , direct-drive , gapframe servo press with Allen-Bradley control .
