Marcegaglia is a leading independent industrial group in the global steel processing sector , with a turnover of more than eight billion euros . The group has operations worldwide with 6,600 employees , 60 sales offices , 30 steel plants and 6.2 million tons of steel processed yearly , serving more than 15,000 customers .

Its products range from carbon steels to stainless steel plates and strip , long products to pipes , pre-painted and special products . In 2023 , for the first time in over 60 years of history , the Group also entered primary production , acquiring an electric oven steel mill for stainless steels in Sheffield ( UK ). It invested with a view to shortening and stabilising supply chains and developing an offer of increasingly sustainable and competitive products .

In steel production the Steel Division has set benchmarks in the current production route and is now pursuing an ambitious step-by-step plan to achieve steel production with net-zero emissions . In an initial step , the Steel Division supplies each flat steel product in a CO₂-reduced greentec steel edition and is working on the implementation of climate-friendly production technologies based on renewable energies . In the 2023 / 24 financial year , the Division generated revenue of 6.1 billion euros and an operating result ( EBITDA ) of 687 million euros .
