ISMR : Which investments have you made over the past two-three years ( machine tools , factory , staff etc .)?
FM : In recent years , Produtech has massively grown its turnover . This is because of
Laser cutting metal sheet . substantial investments made in company organisation , expansion of its machinery , increasing personnel levels with the inclusion of new technical staff and enhancing investments in Research and Development . New equipment and machine tools were purchased , as well as a 3D printer . The technical design office was strengthened as well as various production departments .
We also made important investments in the design , implementation and integration of
software , systems , platforms and applications customised to our specific needs . This includes the management and coordination of design , purchasing , production and all company functions that complete the production process . This powerful production management system is making an important contribution to Produtech ’ s digital transition .
ISMR : What percentage of your turnover do you spend on R & D ? Which R & D areas are you focusing on now ?
FM : Produtech commits about 6 % of its turnover to Research and Development , considering this activity essential for its growth . We are developing new versions of our innovative machines , continuing the development of systems for metal component production from coil .
Our R & D commitment is to industrialise this production method , expanding the range of machines and peripheral equipment , to allow the most diverse processes . This includes refining the coil-fed production process and increasing opportunities for using coil-fed systems . Having developed the coil-fed punching , optical fibre laser and combined machines , our R & D efforts are now focused on making the coil-change process rapid , easy and safe . This means that metal component producers will be able to replace the coil , automatically and easily , when working with different materials .
