Autonomous bending aids productivity
HAEUSLER AG ’ s autonomous bending process is designed to offer companies in the metal processing sector the opportunity to increase their productivity and competitiveness whilst reducing costs .
“ We will be introducing a groundbreaking , metalforming innovation for our EVO machine series . For the first time , the EVO machines will enable accurate and repeatable bending results without scrap ( regardless of material , dimension and shape ) thanks to a sophisticated measuring system , precise hardware and intelligent software ,” the bending specialist told ISMR .
“ Our EVO machines offer numerous advantages that make the everyday work of companies and operators more efficient . In an era of increased production costs due to raw material shortages , as well as increased energy prices , the EVO machine series can make a valuable contribution to reducing production costs ,” added the manufacturer .
“ The intelligent technology makes it possible to compensate for material fluctuations and therefore increase independence in supplier selection . Production can be quickly adapted to new product requirements , which further increases flexibility .”
At the heart of the EVO machine series is the BENDtronic ® control system , which enables an autonomous bending process using intelligent technology . The control system acts as an “ inside operator ” so that machine operators can handle several machines or concentrate on other important tasks .
“ Thanks to their user-friendly design , programming and operating EVO machines is also easier which reduces the amount of training and familiarisation time . Precision of the autonomously bent sheet reduces processing times in subsequent operations ( such as welding ). By eliminating manual straightening , welding can be done directly with the robot ,” explained HAEUSLER .
Designers can develop products with extended design freedom on EVO machines . “ Complex shapes can be bent from any radius without edges . This makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the product , for example by reducing tolerances or optimising shapes . Overall , autonomous bending technology enables companies to push their products to the physical limit and achieve optimal WATCH results while minimising the use of resources ,” concluded the company . n VIDEO
