Tecoi higlights thermal cutting innovations
Tecoi North America will feature its powerful and versatile THOR ® ( Tecoi Hyper Operative Range ) plate processing machine at FABTECH 2023 in Chicago , USA , this September ( booth # A5178 ).
Designed for heavy-duty thermal cutting applications , THOR integrates plasma cutting and a bevelling system as well as oxyfuel cutting with an auxiliary tube and profile lathe . Tecoi ’ s THOR machine also integrates mechanical cutting with the capability to manufacture parts using multiple operations including milling ; drilling ; tapping ; countersinking ; marking etc .
THOR plasma cutting operations include either one or two cutting heads and an optional bevelling system , as well as oxyfuel cutting with up to twelve torches and an auxiliary tube and profile lathe . Tecoi ’ s THOR machine has a central XX axis with a path of 24 inches ( 610mm ) working on a robust double-beam design . It completes machining tasks with a fixed gantry and the option to fit up two machining heads .
The THOR plate processing machine features Tecoi ’ s BEVEL ARC ® bevelling system , accommodating angles of ± 50 °. The machine also features Tecoi ’ s DRILTEC ® system for drilling and tapping with the option of an automatic tool changer while offering SK 50 tool storage with twenty automated positions or five fixed tools . Tecoi ’ s THOR cutting table can be equipped with dross collection under the grid and an independent chip collection system for recycling . The cutting grid features metal supports and a continuous lateral stop for maximum plate holding . Slag can be collected with raisable drawers or by Tecoi ’ s VIBRATEC ® system . Fumes are extracted using Tecoi ’ s ECOTEC ® filters and filtered dust is collected in the DUSTEC ® system .
Tecoi North America will also highlight its laser plate cutting and processing machines , including the new LS Mega Laser .

New launch of 2500-ton tandem press line
Known for its precision hydraulic machines , Taiwanese manufacturer DEES Hydraulic Industrial Co . introduced a 2,500-ton tandem line , customised for automotive manufacturing , this year . Founded in 1976 , DEES specialises in the production of large hydraulic machinery , unmanned production lines and hydraulic presses , hydraulic folding beds and hydraulic shears ( supplying over 4500 customised hydraulic presses worldwide ).
“ The hydraulic monoblock system is easy to maintain and is powered by a motor and pump set . The moving bolsters are enhanced with a Q . D . S . system ( quick die change system ). The production line automatically works all year round , 24 hours per day . Press operators can adjust its pressure , speed , daylight and stroke distance , according to production requirements . One of the users of this automobile stamping production line is FORD ,” confirmed Ale Lee , the company ’ s sales manager .
“ Nowadays , automotive stamping products are becoming more and more refined , automatic and computerised . The high-speed technology of our HD series is controlled by the accumulator . Its pressing speed is between 30 to 150mm / second , with an approaching speed of 800mm / second ( or faster ) and return speed of 600mm / second
( or faster ). With the cushion system function to knock out the parts , all speeds and strokes ( including the slide and cushion systems ) can be adjustable . Our self-developed HD- FASTech technology solves deep-drawing ’ s low efficiency and greatly improves production efficiency ,” concluded Ale Lee .
DEES Hydraulic offers hydraulic presses to the automotive industry for the manufacture of body panels , chassis and car parts ( with capacity of 60 to 6,000 tons , with largest bolster size of 13m in length ). In the 2,000-ton tandem press line with YASKAWA Robotics , left and right moving bolsters are efficient tools for exchanging heavy dies .
