Coil-fed punching
The EXN is DALLAN ’ s new powerful , coil-fed electric punching machine , offering greatly reduced energy consumption . The Dallan ® Select servo-electric actuator is designed to unite power and energy efficiency .
“ Thanks to ARC tool post arches , it is always possible to change the turret configuration and adapt the machine to other future production requirements . Maximum production efficiency is ensured by in-line machining , which achieves up to 100 % optimisation of the material ,” DALLAN told ISMR .
“ Apart from saving on raw materials , working from coil also enables customers to save a lot of energy ( up to 70 % electricity savings ). It is a very fast machine compared to traditional sheet-fed machines using a fully automatic process . It meets the
four main efficiency pillars ; productivity , automation , flexibility and material / energy efficiency ,” it continued .
The EXN can process material up to 1500mm wide and 4mm thick . Coil-fed operation improves efficiency levels and dramatically reduces scrap . The servoelectric punching head concentrates 20 tons of power on each punching tool and flexible tool configurations enable rapid production changeover without set-up time .
In the 2022 release of the Dallan D-Touch software , a new feature was added : the Coil Warehouse Management System ( CWMS ). Warehouse management data is also accessible to ERP systems . Dust extraction and control on show at PPMA
Dustcontrol UK is set to exhibit its extraction equipment at this year ’ s Processing and Packaging Machinery Association Show ( PPMA ) from 26-28 September 2023 at the NEC in Birmingham , UK . The team will be showcasing the company ’ s range of mobile cyclone-based dust extractors and air cleaners on stand D44 .
“ Attendees will be able to see the DC Tromb 400 , our most powerful single-phase dust extractor . The unit has been designed to meet modern safety requirements and work in conjunction with tools that have become even more efficient in manufacturing processes . The powerful DC 2900 range will also be on display , which can be used for industrial vacuuming or on-tool dust extraction . Its suction casings make it particularly effective for dust-creating activities ,” highlighted Dustcontrol UK .
In addition , Dustcontrol ’ s range of DC AirCubes will be exhibited at the event . They are designed to circulate clean air back into an area used for dust-creating activities and provide greater extraction efficiency . Rounding off the equipment on display will be the DC 1800 and a range of accessories including
ATEX and suction cases . The team will also be carrying out live demonstrations of dust suppression when loading a food mixer bowl , a high-priority practice in the bakery industry .
